Knowledge got cheap. Nobody should be $35 away from understanding a hazard the law now expects them to manage — so the course is free, permanently, for as many of your people as you like.

Since 1 Apr 2023Queensland’s Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022 and the accompanying WHS Regulation changes are in effect. Psychosocial hazards get managed like any other hazard: identify, assess, control, review — with worker consultation through the lot.
TrainingA PCBU has to provide the “necessary information, training, instruction or supervision” to protect workers from risk — and psychological health sits inside that duty, not beside it.
Prevention plansFrom 1 March 2025, Queensland PCBUs must prepare and implement a written prevention plan where a risk of sexual harassment, or sex or gender-based harassment, has been identified.
RecordsWorkSafe Queensland’s own guidance puts it plainly: keeping records of the risk management process “may assist with demonstrating what has been done to comply”. Training people is step one. Being able to show who, when and what is how you prove it.

Managing psychosocial risk is a legal duty. Since 1 April 2023, Queensland’s Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022 and the WHS Regulation require PCBUs to identify and control psychosocial hazards like any other hazard — and providing the necessary information, training and instruction is part of how you do it. Training alone isn’t the whole duty, but you can’t meet it without it.
No — and we’d rather say so. The free course gives each learner a personal certificate of completion. It doesn’t give your business a register, refresher tracking, or an export showing who across the workforce is covered. WorkSafe Queensland’s guidance notes that keeping records of your risk management process may assist in demonstrating compliance; that record is what the Compliance Hub is for.
There’s no legislated expiry date on awareness training, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What WHS law does require is that training stays suitable and adequate as your work changes, and the codes of practice recommend reviewing it regularly — so most employers run an annual cycle. Your certificate says exactly that: completed on a date, refresher recommended 12 months later. If you’re on the Hub, you set the cycle and it reports against your policy, not ours.
