BringValid photo ID, comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, with your online learning completed.
Physical demands2 minutes of uninterrupted floor CPR on adult, child and infant manikins — compressions and rescue breaths — plus kneeling, bending and recovery position handling across the ~7 hr workshop. Adjustments: admin@nexa.edu.au.
We supplyARC-compliant adult, child and infant manikins, AED trainers, adrenaline auto-injector trainer, placebo inhaler and spacer, emergency action plans, dressings, first aid kit and PPE.

05 — how you’re assessed
OnlineA pre-course knowledge assessment — multiple-choice, short answer and scenario-based questions covering first aid principles, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, and incident reporting.
PracticalDemonstrate an emergency action plan and manage an unconscious breathing casualty; 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult, child AND infant manikins (at least 5 cycles each); AED use; ISBAR or IMIST-AMBO handover; post-incident debrief and self-evaluation.
Yes. First Aid in Education and Care (HLTAID012) is nationally recognised training delivered by Nexa Training, RTO 46538. You receive a Statement of Attainment valid across Australia.
5 hrs pre-course online + 7 hrs face-to-face. Delivery: Online + practical · Brisbane (Banyo) or on-site. You must complete the course within 3 months of commencing, and finish the online learning before your practical session.
3 yrs (CPR yearly). Nexa’s Compliance Hub tracks currency and sends a reminder before it lapses.
Photo ID · USI · LLN level 2 · device with camera + internet · closed-toe footwear for the practical (floor-based CPR on adult, child and infant manikins).
Yes. HLTAID012 meets ACECQA requirements for approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
Four. A Statement of Attainment for HLTAID012, which includes HLTAID011, HLTAID010 and HLTAID009.
HLTAID012 meets ACECQA requirements nationally, but Victorian school staff may also need 22578VIC (Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis) under Ministerial Order 706. Our combined Asthma & Anaphylaxis course covers it — talk to us and we'll sort the right mix.
No. The ARC recommends annual CPR refreshers, so RPL isn't suitable for this qualification.
