Physical demandsYou'll do 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor (adult and infant), move a 50 kg rescue dummy into recovery position, and kneel and bend throughout the ~6 hr 40 min workshop. Adjustments: admin@nexa.edu.au.
We supplyARC-compliant adult and infant manikins, a 50 kg rescue dummy, AED trainers, adrenaline auto-injector trainer, placebo inhaler and spacer, dressings, splints, first aid kits and all PPE.

OnlineA knowledge assessment on the learning platform — multiple-choice, true/false, short answer and video response questions. Complete it before your workshop.
PracticalThe full DRSABCD sequence including recovery position; a minimum 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult and infant manikins (at least 5 cycles of 30:2); AED use; managing choking, asthma, anaphylaxis, bleeding, fractures and envenomation scenarios — including at least one where you don't know the casualty's condition beforehand.
HandoverA structured verbal handover using ISBAR or IMIST-AMBO, incident documentation, and a post-incident debrief. You get practice time before anything is assessed.
Yes. Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) is nationally recognised training delivered by Nexa Training, RTO 46538. You receive a Statement of Attainment valid across Australia.
4 hrs 30 min pre-course online + 6 hrs 40 min face-to-face. Delivery: Online + practical · Brisbane (Banyo) or on-site. You must complete the course within 3 months of commencing, and finish the online learning before your practical session.
3 yrs (CPR yearly). Nexa’s Compliance Hub tracks currency and sends a reminder before it lapses.
Photo ID · USI · LLN level 2 · device with camera + internet for the online component · closed-toe footwear and comfortable clothing for the practical (floor-based CPR).
HLTAID012 is everything in HLTAID011 plus infant and child-specific content for education and care settings. If you work in childcare, kindy or a school, you likely need HLTAID012.
Three. Competent participants receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011, which includes HLTAID010 (Provide basic emergency life support) and HLTAID009 (Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
Moderately. The non-negotiables are 2 minutes of uninterrupted floor CPR on adult and infant manikins and moving a 50 kg dummy into recovery position. If that's a concern, contact us before enrolling — reasonable adjustments may be available.
No. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends CPR skills be refreshed every 12 months, so RPL isn't suitable for keeping first aid skills current.
