OnlineA knowledge assessment — multiple-choice, true/false, short answer and video response questions — completed before the workshop.
PracticalFull DRSABCD including recovery position; 2 minutes each of uninterrupted adult and infant CPR (at least 5 cycles of 30:2); AED use with shock delivery; managing choking (adult and infant), asthma, anaphylaxis, bleeding and shock — including a scenario where the casualty's condition isn't known beforehand; ISBAR or IMIST-AMBO handover.
Yes. Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010) is nationally recognised training delivered by Nexa Training, RTO 46538. You receive a Statement of Attainment valid across Australia.
4 hrs pre-course online + 4 hrs 40 min face-to-face. Delivery: Online + practical · Brisbane (Banyo) or on-site. You must complete the course within 3 months of commencing, and finish the online learning before your practical session.
3 yrs (CPR yearly). Nexa’s Compliance Hub tracks currency and sends a reminder before it lapses.
Photo ID · USI · LLN level 2 · device with camera + internet · closed-toe footwear for the practical (floor-based CPR).
Sometimes — but most Australian workplaces require HLTAID011 as the minimum first aid qualification under WHS legislation. HLTAID010 suits roles that need emergency life support without the full first aid scope. Check with your employer before booking.
A Statement of Attainment for HLTAID010, which includes HLTAID009 (Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
